Cause of Death: Unknown at this time as tissue and fluid samples are currently under examination.

Date: February 3, 2008
Species: California Gray Whale
Gender: Female
Age: Adult
Length: About 45 feet
Weight: About 40-45 tons

Cause of Death: Unknown and cannot be determined as the state of decomposition is too far along to collect the necessary tissue samples.

Location: Sea Cliff Beach in Ventura County

Other Notes: The whale likely died two to three weeks out at sea prior to stranding. It is normal to see California Gray Whales in our waters as they are currently migrating through the area.
