The Museum is embarking upon a series of ambitious and exciting projects this year that will make our campus more accessible, and even more engaging. And, while the Museum will remain open during these renovations, there will be impacts upon our operations.

Currently, the Bird Hall and Mammal Hall are closed for renovation and Cartwright Hall is closed to be transformed into the new Santa Barbara Gallery.

But, there is still so much to do and see at the Museum. Walk right up to a life-size 72-foot Blue Whale Skeleton. Visit informative exhibit halls featuring marine life, paleontology, and the Chumash Indians. See antique natural history art in the Maximus Gallery. Read a book in the Museum’s Library. Explore the Nature Trail along Mission Creek. Experience the wonder of space exploration in the Gladwin Planetarium. The Museum also owns and operates the Sea Center located on Stearns Wharf.
