See the “Six Meter Woman”
On view through September 4, 2008

See the human body like never before as the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History presents a special sneak preview of the highly acclaimed BODY WORLDS 3 & the Story of The Heart exhibition. BODY WORLDS 3 has installed the Six Meter Woman, which will be open to the public in the Museum’s Cartwright Hall through September 4, 2008.

The Six Meter Woman is a transparent, plastinated body comprised of 83 slices representing all of the body’s regions. The torso and the extremities have largely been sliced horizontally; conversely, the head, elbows, hands, knees and feet have been sliced sagittally to afford a better view. The body slices, which stem from a single body donor, have been placed at 12 cm intervals to permit viewers to look more deeply into the body.

Don’t miss your chance to see anatomy in mesmerizing detail and learn more about the structure of the human body.

Admission to see the Six Meter Woman is included with the Museum’s general admission. While at the Museum, visitors can also see GIANTS: African Dinosaurs and visit the prep lab for the “Moorpark” Southern Mammoth.

Members are free; non-members $10/adult, $7/senior, $7/teen, $6/child. The Museum is open daily 10:00 AM–5:00 PM, except on Saturday, June 28 for the Santa Barbara Wine Festival™.

The Six Meter Woman is a preview to BODY WORLDS 3, currently on exhibit at the California Science Center in Los Angeles. Get a special discount coupon for BODY WORLDS 3 tickets.
