Sometimes natural history can be gross, but it's all part of nature. Here are some engrossing factoids:

  1. The HAGFISH eats dying sea creatures from the inside out.
  2. The SEA STAR pushes its stomach outside of its body to digest its food.
  3. Some BUTTERFLIES puddle in animal urine
  4. The CONDOR is a carrion feeder that eats dead animals.
  5. All CRABS and LOBSTERS make a delicious meal, but did you know that they are the bottom feeders of the ocean?
  6. The STRIPED SKUNK sprays a scent that foul smells like a combination of rotten eggs, burnt rubber and garlic.
  7. RABBITS eat their own feces
  8. OWLS vomit pellets that may have skeletons of owl's prey.
  9. Did you know that HISSING COCKROACHES can make good pets?
  10. STINK BEETLES will spray an attacker with a foul smelling and nauseating liquid from their “butt.”
  11. SEA CUCUMBERS sometimes vomit their guts.
