Community Seafood's first season a success!

Community Seafood, Santa Barbara's first Community-supported Fishery (CSF) program, launched this summer with great success! A CSF is analogous to community-supported agriculture programs, in which customers sign up each season to receive the harvest directly from a local farm. With Community Seafood, instead of subscribing to a single farm’s harvest, you're signing up with the entire fishing fleet of Santa Barbara Harbor. We work directly with the fishermen of Santa Barbara to bring the community a variety of locally-caught, fresh, and eco-friendly seafood at competitive prices. We're looking forward to the winter season which runs from October 3-December 20. This winter will bring some classic seafood favorites to the table: white seabass, halibut, ridgeback shrimp, mussels, oysters, spiny lobster, rockfish, black cod, and much more!

Check out our website, www.communityseafood.com, for complete details about the program. If you're interested in learning more or signing up at any point during this season, please contact our coordinator, Sarah Rathbone (sarah@communityseafood.com).
