Las Cumbres Observatory founder Wayne Rosing will present the story of Santa Barbara's very own global astronomical observatory, from the original concept of a network of robotic telescopes to the revolution in astronomy that started with the discovery of the first kilonova. Rosing will describe the important science that is underway and the starring role that the observatory will play in time-domain astronomy over the next decade.
