SANTA BARBARA, CA — The smart and quirky beer festival concept that both fermentation enthusiasts and nature-lovers alike are talking about, is ready to reveal its vendor roster as well as some delicious previews of pairings that participants can expect. The Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History is thrilled to be hosting this fundraiser for science and nature educational programs set within the Museum’s oak woodland on Saturday, October 18, 2025.

This year’s festival invites guests to explore four distinct flavor zones—Bitter, Sweet, Sour, and Umami & Beyond—through curated beer and food pairings designed to delight the palate and spark curiosity about the science of taste.

“Santa Barbara’s food and beverage community is stacked with innovators who aren’t afraid to push boundaries,” said Certified Cicerone® and event collaborator Zach Rosen. “We’re pairing that creativity with science, play, and nature. It’s going to be an unforgettable sensory adventure.”

Each flavor zone will highlight unexpected combinations. Guests can anticipate surprises.

And here’s the best part: 100% of the net proceeds from the event support the Museum’s science and nature education programs. That means every pour and bite helps foster excitement about science in thousands of guests each year, including many local schoolchildren. Yes, drinking great beer can make a positive impact on the world.

The grand prize of this year’s onsite raffle will be a private beer cruise for 50 on the Condor Express. Imagine all the fun of hosting your own beer tasting event, out on the water, without the burden of cleaning up.

The Museum would like to acknowledge and appreciate the support from early sponsors. Sponsors help underwrite the cost of the event so that ticket sales can go directly to the Museum’s educational programming.
