Document Fossils: WeDigBio at the Museum
At the Museum | Collections and Research Center
WeDigBio is a citizen science event for the Integrated Digitized Biocollections (iDigBio) project. This event is a collaboration with Santa Barbara Botanic Garden (SBGG) and UCSB's Cheadle Center for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration (CCBER). Each institution will host volunteers who will assist curatorial staff with digitizing natural history specimens. Volunteers get to interact with specimens in behind-the-scenes collection spaces and learn about collections and data management.
In this event at the Museum, volunteers ages 14 and up will work with Dibblee Geology Center curatorial staff to take digital photographs of fossil specimens. There will be two sessions: morning (9:00 AM–Noon) and afternoon (2:00–5:00 PM). No experience necessary.
