Frank W. Davis

Frank Davis is Distinguished Professor of Landscape Ecology and Conservation Planning at the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at UC Santa Barbara, as well as Director of the La Kretz Research Center at UCSB’s Sedgwick Reserve and Executive Director of the National Communications Office of the National Science Foundation Long Term Ecological Research Network. He founded and for 24 years led the UCSB Biogeography Lab, where research focused on the ecology and conservation of California species and ecosystems. Frank serves as a Trustee of The Nature Conservancy of California and as Vice President for Public Affairs for the Ecological Society of America. An Aldo Leopold Leadership Fellow, Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and Fellow of the Ecological Society of America, Frank received his Ph.D. in Geography and Environmental Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University and his BA in Biology from Williams College.
