Please note that only about 20% of our collection is digitized in our online database.

Tips for searching our database

  • The 'Advanced' search fields are case sensitive. Please be sure to capitalize taxonomy and proper nouns to return correct results.
  • The * character can be used as a wildcard for stemming searches both before and after a search term and within quoted strings. For example, searching on "*Stearns Wharf*" will find the string "Stearns Wharf" anywhere it might be embedded in that search field. Be sure to select "contains" from the operator dropdown picklist next to the field in which you are searching if you are doing a wildcard search.
  • Checking the "Images" checkbox will limit your search to records with an attached image.
  • If you would like to download your search results to a CSV file, click on the icon with the green arrow at the bottom of the screen.
