Retirement Plan: The Museum provides a 403(b) defined contribution plan. Eligibility for receiving the Museum’s matching contribution begins after one year of full-time employment. If the employee contributes 3% of his/her regular salary then the Museum will also contribute 3% of his/her regular salary to the plan.
Insurance Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance with opportunities for dependent coverage. In addition, we offer life insurance in the amount of $25,000, long-term disability coverage, legal assistance plans, identity theft insurance, and pet insurance.
Time off Benefits: The Museum has a flexible holiday pay schedule whereby employees receive 13 holidays a year. Vacation and sick time are based upon the time you have worked for museum.
Programs Offered to all employees include:
Employee Assistance Program: The Museum pays for a counseling service that is available to all employees. The confidential counseling sessions are free and can be to talk about any concern or problem (finances, health, relationships, etc.)
Ride Share: The Museum supports the city’s ride share program by providing those employees that commute to work, free bus passes.
Free Admission to City Museums: You and your family receive a membership to the SBMNH and Sea Center. You also receive free admission to most museums in Santa Barbara.
Museum and Sea Center Discounts: Discounts on classes, lectures, and store purchases.
