Last Day of Chumash Basketry in Current Space
At the Museum
November 30 will be the last day to see Chumash Basketry: Art & Life in its current space. A lightly updated version of this exhibit will reopen in Fleischmann Auditorium on December 21. This is a homecoming to a space that has hosted exhibits featuring Native American cultures since 1938, the year after the auditorium first opened. We’re excited to return exhibits about people and living cultures to the central space where we come together as a community, and the home of the historic tomol (Chumash plank canoe) known as the Helek.
This exhibition is included with Museum admission, Members are always free. This exhibit space is ADA accessible; visit our accessibility page for more information.
