Sunday, October 11
Help us celebrate the birthday of legendary Californian geologist Tom Dibblee. Color your own geologic map of Santa Barbara and help assemble a geologic map puzzle. Don’t be late if you want a slice of cake. Feel free to bring a card or photo to add to our tribute board.

Mineral Day
Monday, October 12
Meet representatives of local mineral clubs and view displays of their collections. Experience the Museum’s mineral exhibits and meet Dibblee Curator of Earth Science Jonathan Hoffman, Ph.D.

Earth Observation Day
Tuesday, October 13
Explore what we can learn about earth sciences by observing our planet from space. Join us for hands-on astronomy activities that are out of this world.

National Fossil Day
Wednesday, October 14
Meet Fossil Preparator Ben Rotenberg, M.A., and Curatorial Assistant Liz Flint, J.D. Watch them work on real specimens from Channel Islands National Park. Learn about how fossils are formed and studied.

Geoscience for Everyone Day
Thursday, October 15
If you are curious about fossils, astronomy, rocks, minerals, and all things geology, come and celebrate the joy of doing science together. Everyone can do science—and with hands-on, educational activities, we will have something for all to enjoy.

Geologic Map Day
Friday, October 16
Learn about geologic and topographic maps. Color your own geologic map and help assemble a geologic map puzzle.

Dinorama Exhibit Returns
Saturday, October 17
Our fan-favorite mini-diorama exhibit is roaring back! Playful miniature dioramas bring the Mesozoic Era to life. The diversity of dinosaurs and the way ecosystems transformed during the Age of Reptiles may surprise you.
